Carolyn Clarke is a well-known mixed media artist and Associate of the Royal Art Society of N.S.W.She has won many awards for her desert paintings, figurative works and distinctive black and white works. Her frequent travels in the Outback have resulted in fascination with its landforms and glorious colours, which she has set about recapturing in her landscapes. Carolyn's unique style and use of perspective provide her with the freedom to explore the crossover between traditional landscapes and abstraction in a way which has been described as having a poetic quality. She exhibits regularly in major shows in the region, such as the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Royal Art Society's Lavender Bay Gallery and the 'Art of Sydney', as well as in solo exhibitions. Her studio is open on Hawkesbury Artisans Trail open-studio weekends or, otherwise, by appointment.
